Photo Break: Tufted Titmouse

Birdbloggin’ ’til the birds come home.  Story behind the photo below the break.

Tufted titmouse

Man, but these guys are tough to keep in a frame!  The titmouse has got to be the jumpiest, twitchiest, and (when I’m trying to photograph it) blurriest species in the northeast.  Fortunately, they’re everywhere, so after a frustrating effort trying to get a good shot of one, I don’t have to wait forever for another one to show up.

Titmice are year-round birds up here (they looooove suet cages in the winter), so I have even more opportunities to get bad pictures of them.
